Re: Motion²

With Light Boost, increasing the level increases luminance and color accordingly, and with Detail Boost, increasing the level increases clarity accordingly, but how does increasing/decreasing the level of Motion² affect the video in terms of motion fluidity? From levels +1 to +5 I see "2x", but from...

SD2HD Superscaling

What happened to this feature? SD2HD is no longer mentioned anywhere on the Picture² info page, yet it is still mentioned here: http://www.mirillis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=21 Instead, I now see "Light Boost" and "Detail Boost", neither of which are as important to me as a good upscaler. Has S...

Re: sound overdrive

Whoops, I didn't notice this thread: http://www.mirillis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=28 Looks like E-AC3 is not supported at the moment due to Dolby licensing not being completed yet. So it seems like it's just a simple dynamic range control issue with regular AC3 audio. I'll also try to find som...

Re: sound overdrive

I use a Sound Blaster Audigy 4 card with the latest drivers for Win7 64-bit, although I doubt this problem is hardware-related as it doesn't happen in other players I've tried. I think it is more like a sampling error or bug in the Splash Lite surround sound decoder. When working in audio recording ...

Re: sound overdrive

I too have this problem with AC3 playback in Splash Lite, particularly with the louder end of the spectrum in which there is very noticeable "clipping" or "crackling". Here is a sample in which it is particularly noticeable: (Currently using the latest Splash Lite 1.3) This problem does not occur wh...

Re: Planet Earth from Pole to Pole 1080p run with no GPU

I have Acer 1410 ULV laptop so upgrade is no option :) Well that depends on what you want to upgrade. Certainly not the graphics, since it's integrated, but because it's integrated it most likely uses shared memory . Upgrading your RAM will most likely increase the maximum amount of VRAM allocatabl...

Re: Planet Earth from Pole to Pole 1080p run with no GPU

Hi, I posted a similar problem concerning this same video here: http://www.mirillis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=63 It was a problem in Splash 1.1 which was related to how Splash handled 1080p videos with 16 reference frames. This bug is now fixed in Splash 1.2, and I can confirm that it does play...

GPU hardware acceleration limitations

- GPU video decoding improvements on nVidia GPUs (decoding of 1920x1080 H.264 video streams with more than 5 reference frames) I was quite excited when I read this, and Splash 1.1 can indeed play pretty much all of my H.264 videos with reference frames up to 16, whereas Splash 1.0.5 wouldn't play s...
