At 50 to 70 Mbps HEVC, the gap is much smaller than people make it sound online. NVENC still tends to preserve motion and fine detail a bit better in difficult scenes, but for local recordings at those bitrates AMD AV1/HEVC encoders on the 7000 series are honestly pretty decent now.
