That's because GPU video encoding is just marketing. They are not capable of using all advanced algorithms that software encoder can use. So they are fast, but have quality like mpeg-2. Intel QuickSync is a bit better (in speed and quality) but still software encoders blow it away. For instance, x2...

ATI cards have issues sending 0-255. The latest drivers did fix the problem but they also introduce few other issues.

The only issue I found with Motion2 is the grayscale is slightly off. But black level remains unaffected. Are you sending RGB (Video Levels) from your ATI card?

WOW!

There's far less artifacts when MCFI is enabled (almost as good as top-end LSI based MCFI).

They all do. Even TVs. There's still no consumer grade real-time FRC that is capable of correctly converting low-motion contents to high-motion. So when the processing becomes too complex, FRC is disabled or only certain sections of the motion is processed. But on the PC it's a different story. Deve...
