For now Action! doesn't detect the game in any of 3 recording modes and it's impossible to record or measure fps.

I'm not sure what do you mean by 'simple stereo headset with no microphone' as Superlux HD669 is just a stereo (jack) headphone without a microphone... I use separate microphone also plugged into jack. I've tried different presets (hifi, home cinema, headphones) + surround/stereo in Battlefield 4 an...

I've just tested that recording BF3 is fine.
Desync is only with BF4 so it looks like Action! doesn't support it properly.

I wonder if there is someone who can record let's say 5 minut of BF4 gameplay without any desync.

I don't use any usb headset.
I use Xonar DGX + Superlux HD669 (jack) + Zalman MIC-1 normally plugged into back of my sound card.

I have the same issue.
I think it doesn't occur on every game, but on Battlefield 4 it is almost on every my record which is very annoying :/

In BF4 beta mirillis action can't take screenshots.
I can see the icon changing to indicate that a screenshot is being taken but there is no file in the screenshot dir.

The only change I noticed after installing the new drivers is that the official workaround for using quick sync (the one without attaching new cable to iGPU) now works on Win8. Previously it was working only for Win7. But still I need to use 'extend displays' in order for quick sync to show in Action.
