Have you tried turning off any other applications, (eg. Skype). That may be using the camera? The camera can only be running on a single application at any one time. If it is, you will get the problem you are receiving. This is not a c920 error as I use the same webcam, and I have no problem.

I'd just like to say it's the same for me apart from I cannot play with ftb modpacks, technic modpacks, even vanilla minecraft. I'm sure it's not Java SE because I can use both fraps and dxtory to record. It's just overall Action! Is far better than those so I want to use this. Just need it fixing.

I have yes, It works but that isn't really the point. Luckily for me It's not that much of a bother atm, but It's something that really needs fixing (as I'm sure the majority of users use Action! for minecraft) and it's really bothersome.
