Setting defaults and support

Just bought Pro EX (and found out it's no longer receiving development time.) Anyway, my noob questions are: 1. It looks like Pro EX doesn't support .mov and more. Is that true? I can play some .mov files, but others give me an error. 2. When I try to set ProEX as the default player, I don't see it ...

I just bought Pro EX today . . . If I would have known development had stopped, I probably would have gone elsewhere. Funny my research didn't turn this up.
