Re: Motion 2 eat too CPU usage

Frame Interpolation (Motion2) requires a powerful CPU (especially when processing 720p or 1080p videos). Lowering CPU usage will result in poor performance. Think of it like running vector based graphics on a CPU. It is better to move Frame Interpolation (Motion2) to the GPU, but we don't know when ...

Re: I think there's a problem with nvidia cards...

Wait a second. Do you mean MCFI (Motion2) 60p or actual 60p content? :D Id you're referring to the Motion2 60p, then it can't be fixed as it's down to the MCFI algorithm. But if you're referring to playback of 60p content, then it could be the drivers. But you can try disabling Motion2 Ultra and Mot...

Yes we know what you mean. We have already provided the answers.

There's nothing you can do about that at present, accept to slide Motion2 to 1. But even then...

Re: I think there's a problem with nvidia cards...

HD5XXX cards do have more Post-Proessing BTW, technical there shouldn't be any difference between software and hardware decoding but on SplashPro, the colors do degrade (become inaccurate) when using Software Mode. Take a look at the two images above. Notice how blue is more accurate when in hardwar...

Re: I think there's a problem with nvidia cards...

Dear Vivan If possible may I have your experience on whether: (a) Splash Pro picture quality by an ATI 5xxx will be better than an ATI 4xxx or even 3xxx, because AFAIK ATI 5xxx has UVD2 while ATI 3xxx has UVD (b) Splash Pro picture quality by an ATI 5xxx will be better than a slower ATI 5xxx ? I am...

Re: I think there's a problem with nvidia cards...

I wonder if they can interpolate the new frames during the decoding process. I mean, the compressed videos doesn't contain all the frames and it has more information to work with. So why not scan ahead to gather more data to aid interpolation I'm not sure if it is possible, but it's worth asking. y...

Re: I think there's a problem with nvidia cards...

As far as I'm aware, MCFI works in blocks form (akin to video compressions) where individual frame is converted into small chunks of blocks. So sometimes, the edges will have artifacts similar to micro-blocking or distortion/brake-up. It is also why certain sections of a scene appear smooth while th...

Re: Splash PRO 1.6.0

Why isn't motion 1080p enabled for Core i5 mobile CPU's that have 4 HT cores? I think a 3 GHz clocked i5 should be fast enough. The tick option should be freely available for users to experiment. Some dual core CPU's can keep frequencies higher than any Quad. Will it lag so bad? Also, why skip vers...
