Re: Another Motion2-related update, seriously?

I'm a pretty satisfied user with the basic functionality (may improve, like everything), but i'm more interested on improvements on Motion2 and its artifacts. And I decided to use Splash PRO for not having to buy an expensive TV with motion Plus. I have a cheapest one and I get the motion by softwa...

Re: Another Motion2-related update, seriously?

I'm a customer that use SpashPro because of processor-hungry Motion 2. Basic functionality is pretty satisfactory... You're minority. Buy Philips TV and get hardware Motion 2 with it - WAY better, than this one. Actually he's not (he speaks for the majority). There are plenty of free software that ...

Re: Splash PRO EX - HW encoding... sigh

Unfortunately no one offers OpenCL end-user solutions at present. Even Adobe explored OpenCL before exclusively supporting CUDA. OpenCL is very new and requires time for the industry to adopt (not to mention AMD just released released the first driver with embedded native OpenCL support). There are ...

Re: Motion 2 eat too CPU usage

Music to me ears. Will you be exclusively supporting CUDA or will you be releasing OpenCL version for ATI GPUs as well?

Re: Splash Pro PQ

For people like us, its quite easy. But for most people, it can be very confusing. And there's no option to use MCFI . I've been using various filters and decoders for several years and it can be a pain if the PC is used for more than just video playback. I ended up getting a PS3 simply because I ju...

Re: Splash Pro PQ

Splash Pro was designed for non-technical users and those who want a simple lightweight player. Also, Splash Pro is the cheapest software to include MCFI as standard.

ATM, Splash pro unique and functions as advertised.

Re: Splash Pro PQ

There's nothing wrong with Splash Pro's image quality

There's only slight shift in grayscale when using Software mode, but nothing too drastic.

Re: Motion 2 eat too CPU usage

Frame Interpolation (Motion2) requires a powerful CPU (especially when processing 720p or 1080p videos). Lowering CPU usage will result in poor performance. Think of it like running vector based graphics on a CPU. So, I guess, 3 GHz Core 2 Duo processor considers to be a "not powerful CPU" nowadays...

Re: Motion 2 eat too CPU usage

running 1.60 and 1.70 (with all the niceties on) on the relatively powerful quad-core AMD945@3.6G with the humble on-board GF8100 caused GPU over-heat it seems that the software has been quite demanding on the GPU already The video is decoded by the GPU but Motion 2 is done via the CPU. It is bette...
