I often record the desktop all day long, so having it auto-start and stop would be useful.

Is there any way to do this for desktop recording, or could it be added as a feature? Would be really handy for long desktop recording sessions.

I tried out the AMD APP on my laptop w/ 7970M GPU. Not really great for me as I mostly record desktop currently, and this made the GPU fan run fairly loudly continuously. Whereas with Quicksync the cpu fan usually doesn't even come on. So doesn't seem very power efficient in comparison. Maybe I will...

That is nice, I will give it a try on my laptop. I still wish they would let us have more control over the bitrate/quality settings. Sometimes even the lowest setting isn't low enough for me, other times I want to max it out.

Can you explain more the difference between the new Active screen recording mode and the old desktop recording mode? What are the advantages/differences? Thanks

After installing 1.17.1 today, the first desktop recording it made after that failed. When I stopped the recording, Action just got stuck and hung without properly closing the file. Rebooted the computer and now it seems to be working ok.

It would be nice though. Also nice would be if Action could automatically switch between that mode, regular game recording mode, and desktop recording mode on the fly without me having to stop it and choose the modes manually.

I was at a public wifi location and tried to start Action before I had gone on my web browser to get authorized for the wifi connection, and the Action splash screen was just hung there, I could not get rid of it to even see my web browser. I had to go to task manager and kill Action.

I think the point is that this software should be 100% usable without requiring an active internet connection. There are tons of times I might want to use it where I don't have internet.

I ran into this problem today when I was away from my usual internet. It seems Action gets stuck on the splash screen if there is no internet connection? Hope they fix that.
