Re: Splash Lite crash on startup

Same problem here, it used to work well and suddenly I'm getting this error. I believe it has something to do with the videodrivers (ATI) that got updated automatically by windows (I'm using the default Win7 driver instead of the crappy ATI-drivers which introduced tearing on all other players).

Uninstall and install didn't work. Tried to delete all references on the harddisk and in the registry but to no avail.
Please help as I now can't watch HD-movies on my laptop anymore :(

Is there some way to enable logging?

I 'm also now crashing on startup. It happened after Win7 32-bit updated my video drivers. I have Intel 2.5Ghz Core2 Quad, Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+, 4Gb Ram.

Tried a repair through "Add/Remove" . . . no help. Tried uninstall, re-install . . . no help. Re-booted several times after each crash to no avail.

Event Log says that SplasheLite.exe has stopped working. All I get when I double-click the Splash Lite 1.3 Icon is a window that says "Splash lite has stopped working".

I was really enjoying this nice piece of software and am looking forward to a fix. I'm sure others must be seeing this too.

Any comments?

BTW: I predict that Splash Lite and Splash Lite Pro will be THE video player to have installed. Thanx for all your work!

Splash Lite 1.4.0 not working. Gives Don't Send message...
If i run it as administrator gives this: 'Critical error during initialization' - 'The application cannot be executed' :(

It's the same error. I guess that Splash checks for hardwaresupport or something like that at the startup and it crashes doing so. And I guess the culprit is the videodriver. Because 1.3 worked fine on my laptop and after a while it stopped working, so I guess an updated driver (Windows Update) changed something that Splash can't cope with.

you mean a downgrade for my video card driver will perhaps solve this issue?

I just tried that now, went back to the WDM 1.1 driver from MS, but it still doesn't work :(

Ghost, any idea? Is there some errorlog we can check? Or maybe some debug-startup parameters we can try?

I have now installed the newest ATI drivers for the ATI Radeon 3650 and the problem still occurs. I'm out of ideas :|

We try to figure out what does the problem.

Meantime you may try to delete all Splash config files and try to run it again (i doubt that this will help but in Windows world everythings possible). Config files can be found C:\Usersusername\AppData\Local\Mirillis
