I tested few files that works fine but
Planet Earth from Pole to Pole 1080p plays only in CPU mode (ulmost unplayable with Celeron 1.2 ULV single core)... same clip plays "almost" fine with DXVA in wmp 12 (Microsoft codec)
Also i have one mp4 720p - 60fps file witch play in GPU mode but sound and picture have very short pauses, this file played with Cyberlink and Microsoft DXVA (MPC-HC) is total garbage and system produced corrupted files on HDD with newest intel GPU driver, so far best playback is with Splash!

atm i am on 8.15.10.1872 intel GPU driver

It was a problem in Splash 1.1 which was related to how Splash handled 1080p videos with 16 reference frames.
This bug is now fixed in Splash 1.2, and I can confirm that it does play with GPU acceleration on my system.

If it still plays without GPU hardware acceleration, it most likely means that your graphics chipset does not support nVidia PureVideo acceleration of 1080p content with 16 reference frames (this is particularly true of older Intel GMA chipsets).
Whenever Splash plays a video on a system that cannot accelerate a particular sample it automatically defaults to CPU decoding.

If your system has a PCI-Express x16 slot, I suggest getting a cheap GT 2xx series dedicated graphics card with CUDA support (approx. $65). With that, you'll be able to play all available HD content with GPU acceleration through Splash.

Your other option would be to re-encode the video with a lower number of reference frames, but of course the quality will be slightly lower, though since the source is HD the quality loss probably won't be too noticeable.

Please make sure that you have 128MB of dedicated VRAM selected for your Intel 4500MHD GPU. This should solve the problem for now. In future Splash releases the amount of VRAM needed for playing 1080p videos with 16 reference frames (on 4500MHD) will be reduced to 64MB.

As far i know 4500MHD (GS45 chipset) does not have manual GPU memory allocation and its allocating by need up to 256MB or more.. also there is no option for that in bios

I have Acer 1410 ULV laptop so upgrade is no option

There is a "Dedicated Memory: xxx MB" field in this file. Could you please post the amout of Dedicated memory set for your 4500MHD GPU?

Well that depends on what you want to upgrade. Certainly not the graphics, since it's integrated, but because it's integrated it most likely uses shared memory. Upgrading your RAM will most likely increase the maximum amount of VRAM allocatable to the IGP, possibly resulting in smoother playback. I could be wrong since some integrated chipsets have a VRAM limit hardwired into them so they don't increase regardless of RAM amount, but in any case RAM is cheap, and it never hurts to have more.

Display Memory: 797 MB
Dedicated Memory: 64 MB
Shared Memory: 733 MB

Also mine system ram is 2GB so thats not the problem

Hello reb0rn,

As you can see your current HW configuration has "Dedicated Memory: 64 MB" of VRAM. That's why the GPU acceleration is not available for some video streams (1080p with 16 reference frames). But as you have described it is doable on 4500MHD with 64MB of dedicated video memory Problem should be fixed in the next Splash Lite release.

PS. You should be able to increase this value to 128MB in BIOS (this can also improve gaming performance).

Acer aspire 1410 (laptop) has none option in bios regarding GPU... duno about desktop maube they have option to preselect dedicated memory to GPU, but atm driver is automaticly adjusting dedicated memory up to 768MB of ram as far i know about 4500HD on GS45 (mobile) chipset
