4:3 Subtitle size not correct

Wed Feb 03, 2010 10:36 am

I've tested 16:9 and 4:3 format with Splash Lite. Same settings, including Large for font. For 4:3 formats the subtitle is extremely small, even on a 19" monitor. On my LCD TV is barely readable. For 16:9 formats is perfect, on the monitor and on the LCD TV.

I've attached 2 screenshots:

The same applies for *.mkv, *.m2ts files of the same format.

I think the reason is quite simple - font size depends on horizontal video display resolution. E.g. try to set "Strech" for 4:3 video - subtitle size would be the same as for 16:9 video.
IMHO, it should depend on the window horizontal resolution, not video (so in fullscreen any video would have same subtitles font size) ;)

This problem resurfaced with version 1.4.0.

@vivan I like to watch at my movies like they are, not to stretch them and miss details.
