Hi, I have an Nvidia Quadro FX550, which I know is not on the list of supported cards, but does have PureVideo. Is there any possibility of supporting this? As it stands, the hardware acceleration box is greyed out.

Thanks,

Brian Williams

If you have an embedded gpu on your motherboard, I might have the answer for you.

I have a Geforce 8800 and an old embedded Nvidia GPU that I don't use, but can't turn off. Whenever I installed the latest Nvidia drivers, PureVideo worked great. But eventually Windows Update would discover that the embedded gpu was incompatible with the latest drivers, and would overwrite my updated drivers with older drivers. After I figured this out, I turned off Windows Update automatic installation (but left on automatic checking), reinstalled the latest drivers, waited until WU notified me of available updates, and then banned the Nvidia driver "update". Haven't had any problems since then.

Hi,

Splash Lite works fine with FX570 and FX770 models. It should also work fine with your graphics card.
What is your graphics card driver version?

Please try to update to latest 196.21.
We do not have your graphics card model in our labs and we cannot investigate quickly this issue.
Your feedback will be very helpfull.

update: probably your graphics card model does not support full hardware acceleration for H.264 video.
If you wish we can give you detailed instructions how to check your graphics card video decoding capabilities.

Hi
I have a poor graphic card. ATI X1200.
I've tried different codec/video player etc. But when I play 1080p/i files the pc a strucceling to play.
I would give Splash a try. But the same results with Splash. The CPU almost running 100% when i play 1080 movies.
720 files works fine.
I have the latest driver 9.12
The Hardware acceleration also is grayed out for me

Hi, your graphics card does not support full hardware acceleration for H.264/AVC video decoding and Hardware Acceleration option in Splash settings is not available. You can check if your graphics card supports partial H.264/AVC video decoding. Partial H.264 acceleration is not available in Splash Lite, but will be added soon in Splash PRO.

Hello, I'm playing a .mov video recorded on my Canon 5D mkII with splash lite, and it seems to be working fine, but the "Use hardware acceleration"-setting is greyed out. I don't know if thats because of the video format or my hardware?

The clip is h264/AVC 1080i, 30fps.

I have a Nvidia 8800 gts and the latest drivers installed, running windows 7 x64.

Which version of the 8800GTS have you? Because the first Generation doesn't support h264 decoding.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purevideo# ... HD.29_GPUs

if you have the G80 (320/640 Mb) version like me, you will not able to use this option.. that's a sad reality!

This is true. This 8800 cards should however support partial H.264video decoding acceleration, it should be available soon in Splash PRO.
