In it it be no point - the built in audiocodecs in Splash Pro the best on quality for today.

Is it your personal subjective opinion ? I will not be talking which codec provide better audio quality (it's subjective opinion and depends mostly on what audio system we play). Good audio quality is only a half success. Second half is how useful that codec can be. There is no problem to play 5.1 audio track using 5.1 audio system. But try to watch movie with 5.1 DTS on 2.0 audio system. Actors dialogs are hardly hearable compare to special effects or environment. Ofc I can increase audio volume but i have to increase all channels so special effects like expolsion can wake up my neighbours.

For me it is not pointless to add that feature ( possibility to use external filters). Pointless is to write another similar codecs with same options. Instead of wasting time on developing something what is done and working good splash devs could focus on anothers improvements.

I'm testing trial version of splash and I highly prize that player for video quality on my Intel Graphics especially while playing h.264 materials.

i am having issues with getting hardware acceleration to work. it doesn't give me the option to turn it on. is there something i am missing to get this turned on or do i not have the right set up for it to work? it worked before i upgraded to 1.10.0.

my set up: Win XP Pro SP 3, Nvidia Geforce GT 220 with driver ver 6.14.12.7533, AMD Samperson 140 processor driver ver 1.0, 2 GB of ram.

Please add a "move subtitle position" feature. I want to move subtitle position with a hotkey . ALT + UP DOWN RIGHT LEFT .
Yesterday i made a new thread about that . But it seems mods still not allowed it :( .

Hello
I'm using this player since version 1.2 as far as I remember. It is just fine running it on a PC with Ati on Nvidia video cards.
I have a laptop Hanspree with Intel SU4100, 2Gb RAM and Intel 4500MHD onboard. I'm using it for playing mkv x264 movies via HDMI on a LG 32LD450. On other systems including my desktop everything is just fine, GPU decoding is working like a charm. This player looks to have a problem using GPU on my laptop video card. I have some artifacts and the image freezes for a fraction of second and so on....the movie is not smooth as should be. I have to admit that this problem is less visible in version 1.9, I can watch a movie almost decent. In v1.10 is IMPOSSIBLE.
There is no hardware problem anyway, I can play any x264 movie using MPC_HC without any problems but I prefer Splash (PRO) which is REALLY FASTER and looks much better.
I will try to uninstall v1.9 and to install v1.8 to make several playing tests, could be better....we'll se about that. Normally these playing problems must be solved in newer verions but looks like I have some bad luck.

I'll be back soon with some results using v1.8.

Thanks.

Good morning Mirillis,
yesterday I bought Splash Pro 1.10.0, no installation problem.
I think that this is a good product, but there are very heavy problems if I play MP3 files: when I open a directory, the player starts with the first song, but, during the play, if I push stop, or in the time-bar or next song or I chose another song in the list, the program crashes immediatly!!!
In some case I note that during a video play, if I push stop button, the program crashes, but it's not usually...
I think that is an heavy bug!!!
Have you any suggest?

Best regards

Good image result, but still 70% load from my quad when motion2 is activated.
I'll skip this version to buy till sound will work fine. I wonder wich version you'll be able to fix spdif problem?
X-fi bitstreaming should ork fine, we have tested this sound card in our labs. What driver version do you have installed? Do you have the latest drivers from manufacturers website?
sjc1963 wrote:So, the last version wasn't really 1.90.x but 1.09.x instead?
Yes, 1.9.0 is not 1.90.0.

Was it your first post on our forum?
vivan wrote:Suggestion: 10 bit support (High 10 Profile).
Seems that in future it would replace 8 bit, since it provides better quality at same birate (or lower bitrate at same quality).
We keep an eye on this and included in our future plans but we do not plan to add support soon.
Malwin wrote:What about possibility of using external codecs especially audio codecs. I haven't seen better audio codec than ac3filter to decode DTS and Ac3. ATM there is no possibility to configure audio in splash pro so watching movies with 5.1 audio track on 2.0 audio system is not pleasant. There is no option to increase/decrease each channel or even mixing matrix.

People who develope ac3filter project made great work. Their filter contain many useful featers like : mixing matrix , Dynamic range compression ( great option especially when watching movies at night ) , channel configuration , advance channel mapping and mixing so no more quiet dialogs during playing 5.1 audio on 2.0 audio system and much more.

Ac3filter is a complex audio codec and allows to adjust the sound in almost any way. I hope you will consider to allow using external filters.
We do not plan to support external filters.
In 1.11 there will be audio tb added to playback options panel.
There will be option to control each channel for 5.1/7.1 speakers setup and for Stereo downmix.

Did you experience problem just after upgrading to 1.10?

SHIFT + UP/DOWN are avialble for moving subtitles.

This problem is probably connected with new drivers.
We are investigating it.
