It's romanian language. Another player is seted with central/eastern europe fonts.
I checked your subtitle sent by you and noticed the SRT file is not in UNICODE format. It's the first problem because Splash supports only this format. (yet) What I suggest?
- convert the srt to UNICODE
- search and replace º to ţ and þ to ş. (if you have problems with two char only)
- save and use!

It worked for me! :)

Working with subtitles is depends on the player. See this comparison table:

There is a SubRip subtitles capability tester on Altervista page. (See the previous post!) It killed my Splash!

new version
new, improved subtitle support
but not yet polished at all

same old problem with non-western characters still remains..

looks like splash player not use reaL unicode support for subtitles (already embed in widnows!)

one more suggestion for new option (choosing font color): make colors to be chosen bu visual identification (color bars/squares), not text description.. it's more intuitive..

i'm from serbia.. and our specific cyrylic and latyn letters not show corectly (same bug as with romanian example from other user here)

i can't believe that people who know to write such complex video processing algorhytims (motion2 and others) lack of time/whatever to write intuitive subtitle support (only one thing that i miss in splash player)

A subtitle you and noticed the SRT file is not in UNICODE format. It's the first problem because Splash supports only this format. (yet)
but what if i WANT to use subtitle in this format.. 99% of all subtitles use unicode characters, but actually are not unicode.

i not want to wasting my time every time when i need subtitle for movie, converting to other formats..

if 99% of all other player can deal with subtitles of non-western languages, why not splash player too...??

I understand your opinion, Splash must support multiple formats. Give them more time, I belive they will solve this problem soon.
