I have NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT. It does not support DXVA for VC1, but Splash PRO has an icon "GPU".

Splash PRO supports dxva for VC-1 with GF8600.
Please check that cpu usage is lower with hardware acceleation enabled.
It is not full acceleration but cpu usage should be lower.
