There's nothing wrong with Splash Pro's image quality

There's only slight shift in grayscale when using Software mode, but nothing too drastic.

I was going to buy Splash Pro, but then I configured MPC-HC with MadVR and it's superior to Splash. The image quality improvement is so drastic I can't use Splash anymore. So please people, try the freeware software first and after that think should you buy this one.

Sorry for the mods and coders for this "bad imago" post, but it really is the truth and it has to be said.

Splash Pro was designed for non-technical users and those who want a simple lightweight player. Also, Splash Pro is the cheapest software to include MCFI as standard.

ATM, Splash pro unique and functions as advertised.

The fun thing is that you really dont need to be a wizard to configure the perfect hometheater setup. Just use this simple page as an howto:*link removed*(no, it's not my page).

For people like us, its quite easy. But for most people, it can be very confusing. And there's no option to use MCFI.

I've been using various filters and decoders for several years and it can be a pain if the PC is used for more than just video playback. I ended up getting a PS3 simply because I just can't be asked to put-up with the issues.

Sorry this comparison is stupid. This are other frames and disable LightBoost first as it changes picture levels

Of course everyone can setup madvr with avisynth etc. etc.
The truth is it does not work out of the box has some own hardware requirements.
Often crashes and have many limitations.
Poor stability, no support for AVCHD, no Motion2 or easy in use GUI like in Splash.
I know pros and cons of many players and still find the Splash better for my needs.

Maybe you will not believe but this is too hard for 95% of users :)

Ark: Compare a picture without enhancements. In this example Light Boost makes dark gradients look worse.
Usually in bright scenes it will make things look better.
