Lip sync adjustment

Tue May 31, 2011 12:15 pm

Hi Everyone,

I have noticed that the .ts files I have recorded from Australian TV channels seem to consistently need +0.2 seconds of lip sync adjustment. I have been a Splash user for about a year now & to be honest, I don't think this was happening back when I first started using Splash, but I cannot say for sure when it changed.

It would be really good if this behaviour could be corrected (MPC-HT, GOM etc. don't exhibit a lip sync problem viewing the same files) so is anyone else finding the same thing ?

What would also be good is an easier way to adjust lip sync.

The lip sync adjustment is very fine.. 0.001 second increments which is a little un-neccessary, and it's a bit tricky to drag the slider-bar each time.

Would it be possible to add a keyboard shortcut, say using the < & > keys, that would advance/retard the audio in 0.1 second increments ?

Regards,

Phil.

Hi, we are investigating the samples sent to us.
We also plan to add the shortcuts for lipsync adjustment but <> are already reserved.

Why don't you come up with an algorithm to do automatic lip sync adjustment?

You have to fix it with a program before playback.

Hi Ghost,

It's been a while since I raised this issue. I know you guys are busy but are you able to give me any feedback ?

- Is a change to the lip-sync adjustment being considered & can you give me an approx. ETA ?
- Did you find anything unusual in the samples I sent ?
Regards,

Phil.
