Thumbnail movie strip icon in folder gone...? -Please Help-

My Splash Pro used to show a thumbnail pic as the icon in the folders which contained my video clips.
For some reason it doesn't show the thumbnail icon anymore just shows the standard splash player icon.
I liked the thumbnail icon because I could see what the clip contained quickly by looking at the icon. This made editing my clips a breeze. But now for some reason the "thumbnail movie strip" icon is gone....??? My computer displays the files as just the standard Splash Pro icon. I dont know whats changed....hmmm
I've gone to folder view options and tried to switch it to the large thumbnails view but it just makes these standard Splash Pro icons bigger....it doesn't make it the "thumbnail view like i used to have. I don't know whats changed....?
I've attached some screen shots of what I'm talking about....you can see how the thumbnail icon is handy for editing.
please help..

That just makes the icons bigger.....doesn't bring back the movie strip "thumbnail" icons......
I'm wondering if its a video card driver issue? Haven't made any changes to computer or software since this happened. Other than maybe updating Adobe Flash player.....hmmm?
I don't know. I just want it back to what it was before.....

I have the same problem with splash 1.8.0

This only applies to new avi files. My older avi files have Thumbnails.
Reinstalling K-lite mega pack not help. My folder Thumbnails are from there

I think the problem is from the splash file associations.

I'm finding a similar thing with Splash Pro also, but the extension seems to be case sensitive in Windows 7.
What I mean is, if I have a video file with a .MTS extension, the Thumbanil icon for the particular video displays correctly.
If I change that extension to .mts (lower case), I just get the "Splash Player Pro" logo as the icon instead.
Renaming it back to .MTS seems to make the icon re-appear.
I assumed initially that it was just the Thumbnail cache needed clearing, but that hasn't helped.
It is almost as if Splash Player Pro is associated with the .MTS extension but not .mts, so doesn't generate the Thumbnail?
Thoughts anyone?

Splash itself does not interfer with Windows associations or thumbnails.
It is all done by Microsoft Windows Installer or through Windows associations manager.
This is probably some Windows problem, we will try to investigate the problem and keep this thread updated.
If you solve a problem please keep this thread updated and share your experience.

I use now 1.10 and still don't have Thumbnails
So if Windows associations make the problem, anyone know how to fix it ?

known Windows problem but somehow there no solution at google.
Also MS support has no clue how to do it (they can repeat only "restore, restore").
So - did it myself

Installing k-lite codec pack, there is option to make thuumbnails by WMP or something like that.
I checked this, deleted thumbnails cache. reboot. works! uninstall k-lite codec packshit.
de question is: is there anyway to do it without this codec pack?

Why do you call it shit when it actually helped you solve your issue?
