Stuttering Problem

Wed Aug 17, 2011 12:55 pm

Hi,Im so excited to see that motion2 is finaly unlocked for dual cores! but whenever I play any 720p or 1080p videos, its like the video slows down and speeds up every 10-15 secs. the stuttering stops after like 2 secs but its pretty annoying to experience it so often. Any ideas what could cause this?

My PC specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.60 Gz
ATI Radeon 4850 HD (got the latest drivers)
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 32-bit

Splash Pro 1.11 Settings:

Check your CPU and GPU usage. We need more detailed information to help you.

thanks for the reply, the cpu usage varies between 90% and 100% during a 720p movie.

So it's CPU bottleneck.

You're right. It's a bug :!:

While using GPU, Motion2 causes stutter but without GPU, it's quite smooth :?
It's a conflict between GPU and CPU in Motion2 mode. I tested with a 1080p24 from youtube.
Thanks for reporting :)

for 720p CPU usage should be little lower, is it all the time so high?

It may be caused by GPU oveload. With you graphics card it should work fine with Hwaceleration.
PLease check if disabling detail boost and light boost helps.

yep! during a 720p movie CPU usage is always between 90%-100%,when i play any 1080p movie CPU usage is at 100% constantly, and the stuttering occurs regularly instead of every 10 seconds

it still stutters but not as often as it did before. What helped even more, was enabling force video overlay. stuttering is now gone :P

It's only Hardware Aceleration problem for me while using only Motion2.
Overlay doesn't make any difference.
