I've tried that. Works nice, but CPU usage is pretty high, even on a Core 2 Quad Q8300 overclocked to 3.3GHz. Playing 1080p video with 60Hz interpolation is impossible - Splash Pro seems pretty well optimized as the same video is utilizing the CPU at only ~30%. And you can seek ;)
