My experience with Motion^2

Mon Jul 12, 2010 11:48 am

Hello,

I've started using the Splash PRO trial yesterday and have been watching some HD content on it.
I really like how light-weight it is, how fast it loads up and the slick and friendly interface.
I can tell straight away that the Motion^2 feature has tons of potential, but it still isn't perfect, at least on my machine.

My specs are:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4GHz
NVidia GT220, 1024MB
2 GB RAM

When I play 720p content, I notice artifacting and in heavy pan action I can tell how it's skipping quite frequently.
My CPU usage jumps up to around 50%-70% from a normal 2%-5%.

I read that you're planning on tweaking the feature so in the future it's smooth.
Can we expect these enhancements any time soon?

Looking forward to hearing more about your plans and purchasing your product!

mirillis team is currently working to improve the MCFI algorithm, which is scheduled to be released this month. In the future, they will try to utilize GP-GPU to improve detection and accuracy.
