P.S.
I just bought a copy of Splash Pro today.
Hi sjc1963 and thank you for your opinion.
We thought that our lifetime license is clear but it seems it needs further clarification.
We will introduce clarifications to our website and agreements.

Our lifetime license is meant like you said for Splash PRO 1.x.x.x versions.
It means that you may use Splash PRO 1.x.x.x for unlimited time, without any yearly renewals,
but upgrade to 2.x.x.x will be not free.

I'm a new registered owner of a PRO licence and as a fellow of a reasonable level of education and literacy, it has to be said that the wording that appears on a large blue button at http://mirillis.com/en/products/splashpro.html, "BUY SPLASH PRO $19.95 - Lifetime License" is misleading to the point of being a deception. As currently worded, it is preposterous, not to mention insulting to the intelligence of the customer, for the manufacturer to argue 'misinterpretation by the customer' of the actual reality of the phrase 'lifetime license'. At the time of writing, nearly two weeks have passed since the creation of this topic and despite a bit of lip-service in the direction of altering the wording of the offending 'button', absolutely nothing has been done to address the issue. Have the Mirillis brains trust never heard of 'class action'? As it currently exists, the 'lifetime license' of SplashPRO is a naked lie. I suggest that the Mirillis Reps get onto this ASAP before a class action puts an end to the further development of the company.

cheers.

I agree it does sound exactly like that. The name of the product, and not it version number where in the buy button which implied the lifetime of Splash Pro regardless of version number (i.e. 1.x.x.x.x, 2.x.x.x.x, 3.x.x.x.x, etc....) All they have to do to fix this is remove "Lifetime License" from that buy button. All software vendors allow you to use the version you bought forever, they state a limit of one year, usually after purchase that one can get new updates, patches, or upgrades. After that its pay, but you still own the rights to use the older version.

Just seen the new buy button. "No Additional Costs" still sounds like "Lifetime License". How about just showing the price like everyone else does?

And now years later you guys put lifetime license up again when people buy your software. I bought Action! because of the lifetime license only to find out is only good for this version! That once again is misrepresentation. Lifetime License means its good no matter what version you guys put out. That is what lifetime means. Are you guys still looking to get sued?

I guess you guys must be looking to get sued since you back to misrepresenting with the lifetime license thing again. Lifetime license not matter how you guys try to put it still means that the license is good for any version. people are not as dumb as you treat them by saying you have it worded like that so people know they wont get charged monthly or yearly to use the software. the only way people would think they would keep getting charged is if they really are that dumb or you actually put on here that you charge monthly or yearly. So once again you need to change the lifetime license wording. I actually bought Action! because of the lifetime license thinking it was good for any version.

Dear DragonGod2012,

Your Action! license is lifetime. You can activate either version 1, 2 or 3. Although we advise using the newest version. Action! software has always been lifetime. That is why, we don't understand the problem. Once purchased, the license can be used with all Action!'s versions.

Best regards,
