[solved] Very poor sound quality with AC3 tracks

Sun Oct 31, 2010 11:12 am

Splash Pro & Lite too, have very compressed sound in AC3 5.1 soundtracks, when in films sound shots or explosions i heard it very quiet, its not good for me :) for example with AC3-Filter decoder other players have clear and loud sound, only that problem make Splash not usable for me :(

P.S. Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Russia.

i also noticed that some sounds esp. AC3 sound quiet, i fixed this by adjusting the sound under PLAYBACK options and hiked it up about 50%, i havent done any further testing but now I think I will with the only other player I use (Splayer) will keep you posted

I think Splash might not use an internal normalization when loading AC3 tracks. I also played a couple of MKVs that sounded a bit too quiet. They came a bit louder when using MPC-HC with default settings.

I think that normalization must be as ajustable option on/off
