Playing back clips from Camcorder ??

Sat Feb 26, 2011 7:02 pm

Hi guys.. I'm a recent purchaser of this most excellent HD Player, and may I thank you for pricing it at a very reasonable low price... certainly good VFM. Anyway... just have a small observation I noticed when playing directly from my Panasonic SD600 HD camcorder via the USB.

I notice that, although my camcorder screen may show several separate clips which I can play back individually from the camcorder, when connecting via USB and playing them back on the PC using your camcorder connection option it just shows one icon. ie. as if there is only one video clip.

It seems, it joins all the clips for that one day... into one video, with each of the previous separate clips then becoming chapters within it. IOW, it appears to create a new clip/icon only when the date changes, all that days clips become chapters within one video rather than show separate icons for each clip... hope that makes sense...lol

AIS it's merely a observation, and assume that's how you designed it to be, however I wonder whether it may be possible to perhaps retain the option to join the days clips into chapters in one video 'as it is currently and is fine', but also have the option to display a icon for each separate clip like on the camcorder playback screen. ie. a icon for each clip. Perhaps a tick box option in the settings section to 'Join or Separate clips/chapters when playing back from camcorder.

Afterall, one could have video recorded a funeral in the morning and a wedding in the afternoon, and the last thing you want is to just have one playback icon for both events...lol, as it does presently... hope you see what I'm getting at.
Excellent program...keep up the good work.

Best wishes.

Thank you for your feedback.
Haha good example with this wedding... :)

Im not AVCHD guru but as I remember AVCHD structure written by camcorder
combines clips into a single title where each clip is a chapter.
This is how it is saved and truth is that camcorder shows it different way.
We consider to make an option or another mode to view this clips as
you described (each clip is a single title).
