I have a simular problem whenever the video has a "WMA-audio track" and i'm using fastforward the video freezes but audio continues. I've tried approx 50 different videofiles, from short youtube-rips to fulllength movies, even Bluray m2ts, no problems except with WMA.
Using Win8x64, latest Splash and Videodrivers.
