kinda boring updates come from Mirilis, :?

releasing a Full Featured Player is much more better than this small updates, just telling you my idea!

I rather they improve every few weeks than to release a new version once every year

What do you mean by full featured? We started form a scratch and we have no other way than improving player withnew releases. If we want to released full features player than there would be no Splash at all - there will be always something missing. We do our best to meet our and your expectations.

What about support of uncompressed AVI's?
For playback that will allow to use avisynth (via dummy avi), for encode this will allow to convert Action! files to uncompressed (and then to lossless) for working with them in video editors...

Thank you Trivolve, i feel the same way, better to have incremental updates than one big one every year or so. And Ghost shouldn't feel intimidated by small minded people, that have a "glass half empty" attitude. That's my small contribution for the year.........cheers!

I'm not very familiar with video terminology. And, I do not know which program to use for extracting video details like some of the people doing in the forum. So, bare with me, please.

I have a mkv file with two voice tracks in it. It is 720p. Thru all the movie, I faced scatters on the screen. Big squares. It is in both full screen and windowed mode. You can check a sample with below link.

Image

What I read from information window is below:
Stream type: MKV
Video type: H.264/AVC (1280*720)
Video framerate: 24.000
Video bitrate: (changing between 5 to 22 Mbps)
Audio type: AC3 (Stereo, 48000Hz)

My system is Windows 7. Aero is disabled. I am using basic theme.

Splash EX settings are as follows:
Hardware acceleration is enabled (Intel ClearVdeo)
Motion2 is disabled.
Force video overlay is enabled. (I am having random pauses if I disable it)

Playback options are as follows:
Best Quality is enabled
Detail boost is 3
Light boost is 3
Brightness, Contrast, Saturation are all 0 (zero).

I do not know how to crop small part of the movie. If you direct me, I can help with that. Total file size is about 12.4GB.

Please check, using mediaInfo (it's a free tool for viewing full information about video) number of Reference Frames (ReFrames) of the video.

The problem is that Intel ClearVideo isn't capable of decoding streams properly (without artifacts) with ReFrames more than 9 for 1280x720 or 4 for 1920x1080...
So, if it's over 9 - you can try disabling Hardware acceleration, that should help.

I installed mediainfo. When I check file it has 16 ReFrames. I disabled hardware acceleration. I did not check it or a long time, but I think that seems to help. Btw, now my CPU heats more :)

Thanks.
