Audio Out of Synchronization

Sat Dec 15, 2012 10:52 pm

Been a long time paying user of Mirillis products but right now I am experiencing a problem I can't seem to fix.

I am currently having an issue with video/audio playback since using the latest version of Splash Player PRO EX, I have tried to downgrade but this does nothing to solve the problem.

The issue is that as soon as I activate Motion2 on ANY of my .mp4 x264 videos the audio gets out of sync with the video. This is even on the lowest setting of Motion2 and it never used to be an issue until the latest release but I can’t seem to fix it now.

I have a high-end Intel i7 CPU on my laptop and a medium-high spec mobile GPU. Like I said before, in the past audio/video playback would work fine even on the maximum Motion2 setting.

My system specs are:

Intel i7 3820QM (Ivy bridge quad core) CPU << One of the fastest mobile CPU's
Nvidia Quadro K2000M GPU
16GB RAM

If I check CPU usage during playback, it hardly hits 12%. This playing a 1280x528 H.264 video, full details below.

When I click the Motion2 box I can clearly see what I can only describe as a temporary slowdown in the video playback that lasts for about 2 seconds then the frame rate returns to normal but the audio is about 2-3 seconds ahead of the video track from that point forward. If I turn OFF Motion2 the Audio and Video return to sync.

I haven’t installed any new programs or drivers.

Can you please help me resolve this issue ASAP?

I fixed this issue. It turns out my laptop screen refresh rate had dropped down to 50Hz.

I am not sure if there was a mis-match but my laptop has Optimus technology which automatically swaps between the intergraded GPU and the dedicated Nvidia card.

I believe my Nvidia was set to 60hz and the Intel card was set to 50hz. This was not an issue when using WMP12 for video playback but did cause problems with Splash PRO EX.

After a set my refresh rate back to 60hz on the intel control panel, everything is back to normal.
