Suggestion: changing refresh rate of HDMI/DVI output

Sat Feb 20, 2010 3:52 pm

Hi,

Playing 24p content on a PC often results in motion stutter, because the HDMI or DVI output is set to 50 or 60 Hz. A mismatch in framerate always causes motion to be far from smooth. Good HDTVs support all kinds of framerates, including 24p (or 23.976fps). Wouldn't it be a great feature if the Splash player could automatically set the output refresh rate according to the content being played? After playing, it would return the refresh rate to it's original value.

This would make any content play as smooth as possible, and would certainly be great if your PC doesn't have the CPU power for Motion2.

Regards, Hans
