FLAC & Ogg are already supported...
For xvid/dvix splash is using system decoders.

Forget about.allowing your codecs on other programs...put them on silicon ! How about a hardware unit with your codecs, a usb2 port, hdmi and a remote ! Even better, hdmi in, video is smoothed then out through hdmi to the display. Maybe license the codecs on silicon to a vp manufacturer like anchor bay ?

Someone at mirillis please look at this link

The dvp 6080 never came out but surely there is a market for "better than internal display" motion as there currently is for deinterlacing. I honestly can't work out what the external video processor manufacturers are waiting for ? Thank goodness for splash pro providing a software solution.

You wouldn't believe...
It's already integrated in lot of modern TV (Digital Natural Motion (Philips), Motionflow (Sony) etc.)...

Dear Team Mirillis,

Is there any chance of support for the Enhanced VOB container as used by HDDVD ?

Whats the difference between codec and media file format? i'm quite confused, is it like an .avi file is encoded in different formats? meaning, two .avi files with different codec requirements wont play in a system that support only 1 type of the 2 codecs? or is a media file format encoded in only one type of codec?

This will be added in the next Splash PRO version (1.7.1 or 1.8.0).

We plan to add this but not in this Splash PRO version.
It requires additional licensing and patent fees and will not be added to current PRO version.

We have this included in our long term plans but as this is not widely used I do not expect it to be supported soon.

Yes two AVI files may contain a video in different formats (In example H.264, DV, Motion JPEG etc).
