Optimize screen recording performance when using Mirillis Action! on low-end devices

Tue Dec 02, 2025 4:14 am

Hi everyone,

I've recently been trying to use Mirillis Action! to record and livestream, but I'm experiencing lag when recording heavy games or running multiple applications at the same time. My device isn't too powerful (i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, mid-range GPU), so I'd like to ask for experience from the community:

What screen recording settings help optimize performance while maintaining high video quality?

Are there any tips to reduce lag when recording and livestreaming at the same time?

Anyone who has used Action! on a low-end device, is there any effective plugin or trick?

I think this is also a common problem for many new users of Action! and would love for everyone to share their real-life experiences.

Thanks everyone in advance!

Running Action! on a lower-end setup can be tricky, but small adjustments make a big difference. Lowering the recording resolution to 720p, using a moderate bitrate, and switching to hardware encoding usually improves performance without ruining image quality. Closing background apps and locking the game to a steady FPS also helps reduce stutter. If you stream and record at the same time, keep both settings light so the CPU doesn’t spike. Action! works fine on older hardware as long as the settings match the device’s limits.

Closing background apps and using “game mode” in Action! can also help reduce lag a lot.
