HDR Game recording

Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:00 pm

Hello, I plan on using Action! too record HDR Game play footage. I can't find any real info on if action! can record HDR. I wanted too upload too youtube but wasn't exactly sure how best too go about it. Any info that can be provided would help a lot. Sadly, google didn't bring up much info or i'd have done that.

From version 3.2.0 Action! has an advanced feature of real-time high-quality HDR to SDR conversion. So, you can run the game in HDR mode and record or stream it without losing video quality. In the future, we will also add recording in HDR 10 in a real-time.

Thank You for the reply, i saw the update you talked about but i'm kinda confused as too how it works. I plan too take the footage and upload it too youtube. Is it as simple as record footage, render footage, then upload? Also sense its a conversion will it still require HDR too be on for the footage too show the improvements?

Normally i record 4k footage in avi then take that footage into a video editor and render it. Would doing that lose the HDR color/effects? I assume then the converstion is not the same as straight HDR? Sorry i know i have a lot of questions, I've found basically no info from google searching.

Action! converts HDR to SDR so there is some information loss. Video recorded fromHDR source can be used as any other video recorded with Action!

Hello, i have downloaded a demo version of Action! to try this feature, because im looking for software which alows me to play game with HDR but stream (or record) them in a common SDR to anyone can watch it on youtube. But actually i didnt find any setting about HDR in the Action!
Also, when the software is runnig , the games runs without HDR support. As soon as i close Action! - it goes back to HDR just fine. Can you help with this?

Conversion works automatically - there is no need to set anything in Action! settings.
What game are you playing?

From version 4.0 Action! fully supports both HDR to SDR conversion as well as HDR recording using Intel, AMD and Nvidia hardware acceleration. HDR streaming will be available soon.

Hello there’s issues with color conversation (oversaturated) with directx 12. For instance FIFA 2022, Fortnite…).
So you plan fixing this?
