What's your update policy?

Fri Jan 01, 2010 9:48 am

Hi,
I have some questions:

1. What's your update policy?
Is it free to lifetime update?
Or you can consider to give promotions for lifetime update as first saling.

2. Can it choose what decoder I installed?
I mean that I maybe install some codecs, then I can not only use
internal decoder but also feel free to choose external decoder to be
my major decoder for playing some multimedia format in splash's
setting, like elecard's decoder.

3. Is the release date of splash in March?

4. What's your major paypal balance? EUR? GBP? USD?

thanks

Hi isaiah, welcome to our forum :)
Please find answers below. If you have any other questions we will be happy to help.

Splash Lite is free and we are not planning to charge for any updates for Lite version.

We do not expect free lifetime updates for our commercial products. We are planning to add more and more advanced features in the future, some of them will require additional license fees and we cannot provide it as free updates.

Updates will be free for example in Splash PRO until Splash PRO 2.0 release.
We expect to release new version of a product yearly.
There will be special offer for update to Splash PRO 2.0 from Splash PRO 1.0.

We are not plannig to support custom external decoders for MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1.
We care about decoding performance, audio/video quality and we put great effort in audio/video decoders development and optimization. We will keep improving our decoders. By using our proprietary decoders we can provide the best performance (i.e. fast video playback startup) and proprietary advanced features like Motion2 and many more in the future.

We expect Splash PRO to be available for online purchase in March 2010.

USD and EUR. We consider GBP. Soon we will publish some more info about Splash sale on our website and/or Splash PRO forum.
