Watch yourself while you record

I'm hoping this is a quick answer and something stupid I'm overlooking. I've tried to search for my issue but cant seem to get the working right to get the info I'm looking for.
I have two monitors, one to keep an eye on my recording software as I record. I have had enough hiccups that I dont want to leave things to chance and lose or have useless footage once again. But even so I still ran into an issue that once again rendered a whole session useless.
Anyway, on to the actual question;
Is there a way to display my recording as it records so I can glance at my second monitor to make sure everything is recording as expected?
