Is it possible to record in real 720p ?

Mon Oct 01, 2012 2:46 am

So yeah I love your program but when you record in 720p it records in 1280x800 and not 1280x720 so on YouTube it looks terrible with those 2 black lines on the side of the video. I was wondering if there's a way to change the 1280x800 for 1280x720 .

Thanks alot ;)

Sadly this is the problem. YouTube supports only 16:9. 16:10 gets black bars on both sides.

Maybe this will help you out - http://www.labnol.org/internet/embed-yo ... rmat/5806/.

If you want to record something in 720p - than you should select such resolution for display (or at least resolution with such aspect ratio), and then record.
However there are two more choices:
1) strech recorded video to 16:9
2) crop extra pixels from top/bottom of the video
I believe that any video editor could to this, however I don't think this is a reasonable solution, since video will be deformed.

The program works great in 720p for YouTube. Here is a link to show it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrPrZUo27oU

This was recorded with Action! in 720p mode while playing in 1080p. As long as the aspect ratios match between what you're monitor supports and what you're trying to record, you're fine. Otherwise, you get black bars unless you crop and resize.
