Action! Sound - Quiet? How to Fix?

Fri Jun 28, 2013 9:26 pm

I've just bought the Commercial use of Action! so obviously I want everything perfect :)

The sound seems to be very quiet when recording, this is fine when recording with Dxtory or Fraps. I have no idea how to make my mic and game sounds at a good level, balancing out so I don't dominate the call with my friends.

I've looked at the Audio Recording tab on Action! along with the Audio Settings tab - I have microphone at 75 and System Sounds at 25 - If I make these 50/50 they both are very quiet. Is there any way to counter this? I would like the microphone sounds in my videos loud (Well at least so people don't have to turn up their speakers)

Thanks for Reading.

I have the same exact issue, and I'd love to hear a solution. Whenever I record with Action, the audio levels seem really low compared to any other video I listen to. It'd also seem to be Action specific, as with other software the audio level is normal.

Hi ! More precisely, this what we want to be fixed : It is very important for us,especialy for some1 like me who bought this product.

We wood like that those 2 sliders to moove independently
I also have the same problem at sound settings. Why does have to be so many kinda complicated sound settings ? In the Audio Recording settings tab,if i moove the slider from System sounds, then the slider bellow him wich is the Microphone slider setting,ALSO mooves.I DONT WANT THAT !

Sometimes i get so agravated not being able to find the corect audio settings for my gameplay.Because of this issue i am forced to go with Fraps on wich i realy dont have to configure sound settings from within the app.I ussualy go to sound settings at my windows audio control pannel.I wood not like to do that with Action!.I wood realy like to set those audio settings from within the app.

But right now it seems it's not possible.Pls Action! team,FIX THIS

Thanks and keep up the good work !

It's not bug, this was made on purpose to balance the audio between system sounds and microphone. Have you tried to volume up your microphone or system sounds in System Sounds Mixer?

Well i wanna balance that my self,as i consider necesary.I tryied that and many other combined settings with no satisfying result.
Leave it like it is but pls,on the next update gives an option to switch btw independent movement for those sliders and a check box or something to change it as unfortunatly it is now.

Pls implement this Mirillish team, some of us realy needs it.I payed for this, but until i can properly use it,i'l have to go with Fraps.:(

It's definitely not an issue with the microphone settings. I can use Fraps, XSplit, Dxtory, etc. and the audio seems normal. However, when I use Action, my audio seems a lot lower than normal.

Also, I'd prefer if the two worked independently, as oppose to the way it currently does.

I recommend a simple little program made by the user AlanDavison. You just have to record your mic on a different audio channel (you can do that with action!) and then follow the tutorial. Here is the program + the tutorial: http://forum.mirillis.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=29218

I hope this helps you guys :)

I was having many of the same problems at the op. I tried for hours to fix it via the recording program. I had the mic set at 100% and Windows' audio was also at 100% and it still sounded way too quiet.

I never tried playing the file it recorded in any other program, only the first-party player that's included.

The source of the problem for me was the fact that the default volume of the included player is set to around 50% of what it should be
Here's a screenshot
(the volume controller is at the far right)
Once I set this to 100% also, I could hear myself at the proper volume.

Still an issue, audio levels are abnormally low, and you're either forced to publish it as is or distort the audio and make it louder in post production. Neither is a good solution.
