Well you are reducing the bit-rate and resolution during export so naturally quality will go down from 1080p.
Another possibility is because of your use of Nvidia CUDA, which is known to reduce quality a little, so try it out with this switched off.

Also, could you post a screenshot of your recorded video in full screen so we can see what is looks like.
Could you also tell us what your monitor or screen resolution is, as well as the model of Intel i7 CPU and Nvidia GPU you have in your PC.

Well because your monitor is not 1920x1080 set the recording resolution is "Original", and CUDA can be turned off by going to Settings, Export Settings, and remove the tick on "Use hardware acceleration for video encoding".

The only other thing that might be affecting quality is what has been set in Settings, Video Recording Settings and "Video Quality". If not set this tab to "High". Then again I think that might just be the quality that action gives out at 720p, if you want it to be better before export set "Output" to Original and set the bit-rate to the maximum.

Nothing other than that can be done, Action! still has fantastic quality when compared to others like Bandicam or FRAPS (with the first being around the same and the second worse because of the CPU usage).

Ive uploaded a quick test of what my video looks like with the 720p (Main Profile) Preset, which you can find here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5vrvi ... sp=sharing

There is a difference in quality and I'm not sure why. It's either because of Nvidia CUDA, or because "Video Quality" is set to something else other than High. If none of these solve the problem, try a reinstall. Other than that I don't know.

I also just wanted to mention at this point that if you are planning on using a different recording software you should still stick with Action, there are some interesting features on the way and it could be fixed in an update. Still it's your choice though so none will mind.

Just record using AVI mode without NVIDIA CUDA (Horrible image quality in my tests).

After this, encode to MP4 using RIPBOT264.

For fit in 1080p, just set letterbox 1728x1080

Thanks Cauptain, but still same result

the main avi is looking bad, so you can't export HD if the "source" avi isn't quality

Am i the only one having this problem? this sucks :(
