A problem with action

Hello I've been trying to capture video all morning, Firstly I can't get my mic to record into a separate audio file, and when I finish recording and try to view the video it shows the correct length at first, then jitters and freezes a bit, then the video drops down to about 1:30 and I lose all content, even though the player had played most of it.
