Some problems with Action!

Thu Apr 10, 2014 8:21 am

I get a random split second black screen when rendering the raw file ".AVI" on sony vegas.
It happens randomly, and it's a hassle to watch your videos carefully just to look for random black screen that occurs.

I haven't tried the MP4 format because it only captures up to 720p. I am recording at 1080p / Original.

The MP4 (AMD APP) captures at a very low bitrate which results in a pixelated raw video.

I also tried the export feature, but the output video lost half of its sound after exporting. And the max video bitrate is only 24.000 Mbps.

That give me no choice but to only use the AVI file format. :(

So you lost the sound when exporting from Action or Sony Vegas ?

How long is the footage ?, I'm use to doing short videos, longest being 15 mins most times so I wonder if this is an issue with long videos.

As for the black screen, does it also show up in Action, or is it only in Sony Vegas ?

From Action!, then saving to my computer. Half of the video duration lost its sound.

As much as possible.. I don't want to export the raw file, because the max bitrate is only 24 Mbps.

Not really sure why your losing your sound, maybe a codec is corrupted in Action.

Could do a repair/re-install to test that.

As for the black screen, if it showing up in Vegas only then it sounds like an issue with how Sony Vegas is rendering the video. They may be able to give you some insight on that. But in the mean time, why not test another video editor like a free one to see if the black screen results also occur ?.

But I hope a reinstall will fix your sound issue.

The video lost half of its sound when importing to sony vegas. I tried playing it on windows and it is fine.

So it sounds like Sony Vegas is messing up with the importing of the Action videos.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had any of these issues with Sony Vegas, I myself use MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus and never had any issues editing my files from Action.
