Action! crashes when recording with external microphone

Hi guys,

I'm currently running an audacity / fraps /Virtualdub combo and consider switching to Action for a more comfortable handling of the whole process of recording a game with voice commentary.

However, I find that Action crashes whenever I try to record a video with microphone input. This happens after I stop recording. I can record without problems if I do not record microphone input.

My specs:
Intel Xeon 1230
MSI Geforce GTX 770
Asus H87-HD3
Software installed on a Western Digital Blue 64MBit 1TB
Recording to an external harddrive (momentarly USB 2.0). Again, this works with fraps without any problems.

My settings:
Video:
720p, Mp4, 60 Frames, Microphone always record, perfect video match off.
Audio Settings:
Capture on different track disabled, external USB Microphone, Speakers(Real High Definition Audio)

Any ideas what I could tweak to make this work?

Do you have any mic-in microphone that you could connect to your PC to see if this may be cause by usb connection?

If you mean a build in microphone then no, I don't.
I could try to use a microphone that's not USB for comparison.
