Sony Vegas Importing Problem!

Tue Jun 10, 2014 9:56 pm

I record minecraft in avi format at 1080p and 60fps. Later I export the file in mp4 format at main profile 720p and high 720p. When I try to export the mp4 file in sony vegas all I get is the audio. But I can watch the footage perfectly in Windows Media Player and the Action! preview. Here are some screenshots of my settings.

Please help me! I am a youtuber and I need this to work. I have installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack but still nothing happens. I have installed other codecs as well but nothing happened. When i try to open the raw footage in sony vegas, it doesnt open and gives an error saying that it does not recognize the codec. Plus when I try to open the .avi file in WMP and MHC-HC all it shows is the audio file.

And when i open the mp4 in sony vegas it shows:

I havent tried directly recording in mp4 format because it only records in 720p whereas I want to record at 1080p. I have a NVIDIA CUDA so i use that for hardware acceleration.

Please Help!

I have the same problem. I have downloaded the K-Lite mega codec pack. The only difference it made was that now I can see the thumbnail of the avi video in the pop-up window where you add media. However, as soon as I click on the thumbnail, Sony Movie freezes and crashes. It is very annoying and disappointing.

Its not problem with Action! its a Sony Vegas error.

Whats Action and Vegas versions used?

Uninstall Action, any codec pack, run CCLEANER, reboot, install Action again and try.

For full compatibility Sony Vegas 12 or 13 is need. Works in 11, but have some bugs.

Claudio - I tried that - it did not work.
The problem is new - it did not happen before, so I have been thinking about what changes I have made that may have caused it. One possibility may have been the latest Action update causing the problem. Another possibility was that I change my graphics settings to always use my NVIDA GPU, rather than have the Auto select between Nvidia GPU and Intel graphics.

By the way, my Sony vegas is version 13 - fully updated.

Uninstall K-lite, run CCLEANER, reboot and install only FFDSHOW.

Link: http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm - 1º and 3º links.

Sometimes Lav filters can make decode problem.

Hi Claudio
That also didn't work. However, please note that I am referring to an avi file - is it a different codec pack I need to download? Also, now the thumbnail disappeared again.

Please Arasereg, upload a sample file (10/20 seconds) in any storage site (MEGA/MEDIAFIRE/ANYONE choice)

Its very helpful to solve your problem.
