Settings and Audio

Mon Aug 04, 2014 12:52 am

Hello! I am new to the forums of Mirillis, sorry if there's anything incorrect or not following certain rules.

With that out of the way, I have two issues.
Every time I go to open Action, my settings seem to have been erased. This includes my Keybinds, microphone levels, and AVI vs MP4 to record with. Is there some button I should use to save these settings? I'm currently using version 1.18.0.0.

Another thing, is there any way to record two different audio streams? For example, I could split the audio of the video, resulting in my Microphones audio, and my systems audio. So then I could edit both at different levels, so my mic is louder than my game audio.
I realize there is already a audio mixer built into this program, but sometimes my system audio gets louder than I expected it, and ruins the video.

Thanks,
FCRev

I asked this question a long time and did not get any fix.

I have the Action installed on my desktop and laptop; both windows 7. Settings are to record audio as WAV, which is best

When I use my desktop, the recorded sound is good; the way it is supposed to be

When I record using the laptop, the sound is poor; very thin, no bass. It takes only 2 seconds to notice

I have checked every setting on the laptop and all setting are right; I have tried to set the audio to CD 44, DVD 48, etc, no change

The recorded sound is always poor from the laptop

Do you know how to fix this? The action software on the laptop is working otherwise; it records video and audio but I don’t use it because the sound is so bad

I don’t see any setting on the action software that would cause this either

I think you should update your version to the latest one, just to be sure. Also, when you stop using Action! and close the program, does it crash (do you see a windows error message saying the program has stopped responding)? I lost my settings every time Action! crashed on closing. Bought a licence, now it closes without errors, everything works.

Again, you should update to the latest, as I don't know whether this feature is present in 1.18.0.0. I am using 1.19.2.0. In this version, you can go to Settings -> Audio Settings -> there you can tick a box to "Record microphone into separate audio track. On the same tab, you have the "Audio balance" section, where you can adjust the volume levels of the system sound and microphone input using the two sliders.

Way to hijack a thread, buddy!

On the Video Recording tab, do you have Microphone recording enabled? (Record on button down, Always record or Do not record)

On the Settings tab -> Audio Settings -> System sounds -> Audio device --- which device is selected? From how many devices can you chose from?

I have tried both microphone on and off. I have microphone do not record

in audio settings, i had 2 choices; system default which I had or the stereo idt mix; so 2 choices there
I tried the idt mix now but I don't think it made any difference

audio balance is 84 mic and 16 system. I also tried to change that but there was no difference

I never touched that setting before so it must be 84 and 16 by default

Settings are stored in registry entries. Please update your version to latest available. As for your microphone issue. Do you use record microphone into separate audio track feature?

I just googled IDT MIX and found this thread, I am not sure wether it is relevant to your case or not, but you should take a look - http://en.community.dell.com/support-fo ... 83371.aspx
In any case, try and see if you can get updated drivers for your sound card, or an older version if you are currently using the latest drivers. If messing around with the drivers doesn't help, then I think the soundcard/audio chip/codec used in your notebook is incompatible with Action! :S

interesting info about the IDT. This is an HP Elitebook. Very nice model with i7 processor as well. I think it has the AMD Firepro Video Card

There is no logic to this. Whether I use IDT or Default, the recorded sound is thin and not like the original

on my desktop the recorded sound is fine. on desktop, under sound settings microphone and line in say no plugged in
under playback realtek high definition audio device show default and you can see the meter to the right of it
It also shows AMD High Definition Audio Device not plugged in
