Questions - AMD APP / IQS video res, plus Action! Remote API

Mon Aug 04, 2014 11:42 am

Hi there!

I've got a couple of questions. First I'd like to ask about the resolution limitation when recording using AMD APP and Intel QuickSync. My native resolution is 1920*1200, however, both AMD APP and IQS fail to work at this res. Is this a HW limitation of the respective technologies used, or is this a SW issue that could be worked-around/improved in future releases? For the time being a warning message would be nice (for new users) when selecting AMD APP/IQS stating that recording at "Original" resolution above 1080p will not work. *

Next I'd like to ask you, if possible, to provide the API with documentation that is used for the Action! Remote Control application for Android, so that a remote control app could be written for other platforms. I don't own an Android smartphone, but I'd be happy if it were ported to the platform I use (Meego running on a Nokia N9).

Thanks!

*Or at least it doesn't work on my end, running W8.1, i5 2500K, AMD 7870 XT. Selecting "1080p" works all right but it records videos at 1728*1080 pixels.

MP4 videos are always scaled to 1080p. If you would like to capture your native screen resolution (1200) you should change your format to AVI. As for ARC API there is currently no plans to release it.

Thanks for your reply, it's a pity you guys aren't planning on releasing the API ;(
