problem in recording a game in mp4 720p

Hi i want to start a new gaming youtube channel and i strted recorsing videos using action! I want to record at avi quality but the files just come out too big (15min video 4gb) its not realistic for uploading videos as any video would take a whole day to upload for me
I tried several timea recording with settings set to mp4 at 720p and when i pressed stop the software froze and stayed like that.
After restarting there was a mp4 file tough corrupted and i couldnt open it, i thought maybe the 720p was too much so i tried at 480p and still didnt work.
The game i tried to record was "child of light" at 2180X3840 res and my specs are specified
I dodnt try recorsing other stuff so it might be only because of the high res but i would still like to get an answer if possible
