Graphics card recording

Sun Aug 31, 2014 4:33 am

Hello everyone!

I was reading about this program on the internet and it seems quite interesting.
I am looking for a software to record my gameplays but I want one which has the minimum performance impact possible.
I've tried FRAPS, MSI Afterburner, AMD Raptr App and Bandicam, all of the except for Bandicam did create huge file sizes and had huge performance impact.
Aparently Bandicam does use the graphics card to process the recording and not the CPU, which in the end results in less performance impact (I could play BF4 with it on max settings losing almost no FPS, while wiht FRAPS I couldn't play at all), but I want to try out other options before actually buying something, so I am searching for as many options as possible.
I want to know if this "Action!" software does the same, I am confused because on some pages it says it does use AMD Acc App, on other it says it only uses Intel Quick Sync or NVIDIA Cuda, example:
Here it says that it works for NVIDIA Cuda, Intel® Quick Sync Video and AMD ACC APP, but here it says only Intel® Quick Sync Video and NVIDIA Cuda are compatible, doesn't mention AMD at all.

So the question is: I'll be able to record gameplay videos with little or no impact at all using my AMD R9 270X or it'll use my processor because it is not compatible with AMD ACC APP?

Action! offers real-time mp4 recording with both Intel Quick Sync and AMD APP technology. However exporting feature allows you to also use Nvidia CUDA in addition to those two mentioned before to speed up your exporting process. CUDA is not available in real-time recording.
