I bought Action! some time ago to make instructional videos for various games to be uploaded to my youtube channel (why else?) for the benefit of my clan. Unfortunately, I seem to have found a penny in the road...
The game I usually make videos in is War Thunder. This usually works very well. No problems there.

The issue is when I try to make videos using another game (Flight Simulator X - which I see you all are no stranger to!) to better explain a point I'm trying to make. As a side note, I was also unable to use Skyrim at all. With FSX, the program fails to load the 3D engine... giving only a black screen for a render window and cannot load a flight. With Skyrim, it crashes to the desktop as soon as it starts to initialize the 3D engine.
These are two very different engines from completely different companies, so this was a total head-scratcher for me. If I shut down Action! everything is fine. Both games boot and play normally. But I remembered that, on my machine at least, they actually have a common denominator... ENB.
ENB, if you don't know, is a free mod that has been adapted and ported to work with literally dozens if not hundreds of games using all manner of 3D engines. It can run both as a wrapper (just drop the appropriate DLL and config file(s) into the same folder as the game's exe), or as an injector (which I've never felt the need to try as yet). The result is the addition of many modernized special effects and color correction abilities into your game of choice. This makes otherwise dated or aging games look much better (FSX), and in some cases (Skyrim) absolutely stunning. And on many modern machines the performance drop is often negligible. You can see the attraction, yes?

It seems my use of ENB + Action! causes these games to crash. I can run either game and record using Action! if I don't run ENB, or I can run ENB if I don't boot Action!. Choices.

Below you will find a link to the ENB website. I've no idea what it would take to develop some level of compatibility with it, nor would I really consider it a huge priority since both games can be recorded w/o ENB. But it would be great if I could run it.

Also, with as many FSX posts I see on this forum, it would be interesting to know how many of those folks have been using ENB without realizing the conflict with Action!.
If I can provide any other useful information, just let me know. Thanks!
