Audio in recordings have peaking/clipping audio

Sun Aug 07, 2022 3:12 am

Hello, I have used Action! for years and have a purchased license. Recently I have been trying to record gameplay from many different games with audio from my friends also being included. The problem I am noticing though is that after I am done recording and go to review the video, the audio (specifically from my system audio) is clipping to where it becomes extremely distorted. I am extremely confused because I have always been updating my drivers (no new updates as of posting), always updating Action!, and I haven't changed any critical settings over the course of the past 3 years of using this recording software. To provide some info on my specs:

Action Version: 4.29.2
Recording Resolution: Original
Recording Mode: Game (primarily)

OS: Windows 10
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 16GB
Monitor Resolution: 2 Monitors, both 1920x1080
Video Type: MP4
Games Recorded: As mentioned, various games, but from what I have experienced, GTA V, Deep Rock Galactic, American Truck Simulator, and more. I have also recorded just my screen on Discord and this issue is still present.

I wanted to also make my issue clear, my problem is regarding SYSTEM SOUNDS. This is not a microphone issue.

When I record videos, I have my primary and secondary audio devices set to my headphone audio (Corsair HS70) and my microphone (Blue Snowball). I have used both of these devices for the past 3 years as I said and I have had no issues before.

I am providing a YouTube link to a video I recorded just today encountering this issue (TURN YOUR VOLUME DOWN):

Correct me if I am wrong, but this noise occurs when someone talks to you via Discord. Is that correct?
