Time-Shift function has "Size" setting. What does the option affect on ?

Hi guys, i have a question about line "Size" in settings menu of the Time-Shift function.

I made set up my Time-Shift highlight length for 30 seconds constant recording.
Then, i'm using Time-Shift and sometimes save highlights and size of 30 seconds videos what i'm getting in the end are ~ 10-20 mb, so, in my case i have constant consuming very little amount of space in RAM disk during Time-Shift non-stop recording and of course the same little size of videos i get when i press hotkey to save Time Shift highlight to my SSD drive.

My question is - what does the "size" line setting mean ?
There are many options from 1GB to 128GB.

For what is this, let me understand please.

The "Size" setting in the Time-Shift function refers to the amount of memory allocated (typically on your RAM disk or SSD) to store the temporary buffer used during Time-Shift recording :)

The "Size" setting controls the max RAM/disk space for the Time-Shift buffer. Larger sizes allow longer recording windows but don’t affect highlight file size, which depends on resolution/bitrate.

The "Size" setting in the Time-Shift function typically refers to the maximum amount of disk space allocated for storing the buffered recording data.

The "Size" setting in your Time-Shift function likely refers to the total allocated storage space for the Time-Shift recordings.

Here's how it works:
  • Time-Shift Recording: Your device continuously records a short buffer of live TV. This buffer allows you to "rewind" and watch what just happened.
  • "Size" Setting: This setting determines the maximum amount of storage space that your device will use to store this buffer.
For example, if you set the "Size" to 1GB, the device will allocate 1GB of storage to store the Time-Shift buffer. Once the buffer reaches its limit, older recordings will be overwritten to make room for new ones.
