Access to past versions due to bug in current

Wed Aug 20, 2025 6:24 pm

I was wondering if there is a way to access past versions. The latest update has caused a bug for Windows 10 users to still have the hud showing during recording. Even though it's marked to not show the HUD it still shows in the recording. I don't know if this is happening to Windows 11 users. Since I purchased this software back 2013 off of this website I don't have access like Steam users do. If I do I can't find it and would really appreciate directions to such access. Here is a quote from a gentleman replying to my post on Steam about the issue

OK, more info and maybe a solution. My wife just read that they optimized a lot for Windows 11 recently, so that got me thinking (I’m still using Windows 10 myself). Long story short, I just tried a rollback to the version before the last update, and guess what, those HUD problems are gone (just checked Eriksholm, It Takes Two and Selfloss). So in my case obviously the update from May 5th was the culprit. Anyway, if you’re still using Windows 10, you might want to rollback to the February version, too. To do that, use the Steam console, and enter
download_depot 228180 228181 3033010372910393977
This will download the old depot into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_228180\depot_228181
Just delete all files in the Action app folder and copy those old files into it, and it might work.

By the way, to enable the console, either use the command steam://open/console or add -console to your Steam desktop link.

Edit: Oh man, completely forgot that you don’t own Action on Steam, sorry :/ But maybe Mirillis could provide an older download version as well for you.
