Action! Optimization Experience for Smooth Game Recording at 60fps

Sat Sep 06, 2025 2:30 am

Hi everyone,

I have been using Action! Screen Recorder for a while to record games, and I am quite impressed with the sharp image quality and clear sound. However, I would like to share and ask for some more experiences to optimize:

👉 Current experience:

When recording games at 1080p 60fps, the video quality is very good, but the CPU/GPU load sometimes increases, especially when playing heavy games.

Tried changing different codecs (MP4, AVI) and bitrates, but have not seen a big difference in resource usage.

Streaming directly to YouTube is quite smooth, but sometimes the frame drops slightly.

👉 Question for the community:

What settings do people usually use (codec, bitrate, hardware acceleration) to record games smoothly and save resources?

Does anyone use Action! combined with a capture card or GPU encoder (NVENC/AMD VCE/Intel QSV)? Are the results much improved?

Besides recording games, do you have any tips for using Action! to make tutorial videos with clearer text and mouse cursors?

I think this topic will help many new people get acquainted with Action!, and also for us to discuss more about how to make the most of the software.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences and sharing!
